Dear Groton Elks Member,

The Groton Lodge of Elks is presenting a 9/11 Twentieth Anniversary Remembrance Ceremony on September 11, 2021, at the Groton Municipal Building. As part of our observance, there will be a field of flags to honor all the victims of the attacks that occurred on that day, a total of 2,977 flags.

This is an important event in the history of our nation and must be remembered and shared with future generations. We have asked the Groton City Police Department and the City of Groton Fire Department to be part of this event as we acknowledge the profound effect the attacks had and continue to have on first responders and firefighters throughout the country.

Join other Lodge members as we commemorate this important day in our nation’s history. Monetary donations will help supply flags to be used in our event, which will be donated to the community afterwards. All donors will be acknowledged and thanked at the event, as well as recognized in our Lodge Bulletin and on our Facebook page.

Thank you for your consideration of this request. Donations can be mailed to the Lodge or dropped off in the Secretary’s box outside the Member’s bar or on our web site click on the donations tab . In order to ensure acknowledgement at the event, please make your donation by August 28, 2021

Please call Joann Donnel, ER at 860-823-9839 with any questions.
